Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Teachopolis (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our website, studio tools, classroom experience, and the Teachopolis Classroom mobile app (iOS and Android). Your studio may also have its own policies for class and enrollment data.

This is a working policy for app store listings. We may update it as features ship; material changes will be reflected on this page.

Information we process

  • Account and profile — name, email, phone number, date of birth where collected, address, avatar image, and sign-in credentials managed through our authentication provider.
  • Studio and classroom activity — courses, lessons, schedules, library media, messages, and permissions your instructors configure for students and families.
  • Device and usage — basic technical data needed to operate the service (for example IP address, browser or app version, and error diagnostics described below).

Teachopolis Classroom mobile app

The mobile app connects to the same Teachopolis account and classroom data as the web experience. Sign-in tokens are stored in the device secure storage where the platform provides it.

Crash and error reporting (Sentry)

When configured, the app may send crash reports and error events to Sentry so we can diagnose reliability problems. Those reports are scrubbed to remove common sensitive fields (such as authorization headers and cookies) before they leave the device. Sentry processes data as our subprocessors under their privacy terms.

Device permissions

The app requests access only when you use a feature that needs it:

  • Photos / media library — choosing images or videos for your profile avatar, student photos, or library uploads.
  • Camera — capturing photos or videos where the app offers a camera picker.
  • Notifications — optional alerts for messages and classroom activity when you enable push notifications on a development or store build that supports them.
  • Network — required to sync courses, messages, and media with Teachopolis servers.

You can change or revoke permissions in your device settings; some features may not work without them.

How we use information

  • Provide, secure, and improve Teachopolis for studios, instructors, students, and families.
  • Deliver messages, schedules, and lesson content you are authorized to see.
  • Send service-related email or SMS when your studio or account settings allow it.
  • Detect abuse, troubleshoot errors, and comply with law.

Sharing

We share information with your studio’s authorized users according to roles and permissions in the product. We use infrastructure and service providers (for example hosting, email, SMS, media delivery, authentication, and error monitoring) that process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and security

We retain information while your account or studio relationship is active and as needed for legal, security, and backup purposes. We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest; no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your choices

  • Update profile details in the classroom or mobile account settings where available.
  • Manage marketing email preferences using unsubscribe links in messages we send.
  • Contact your studio for access, correction, or deletion requests tied to class data.

Children and students

Studios and families use Teachopolis to support instruction. Accounts for minors are typically created or managed by a parent, guardian, or studio according to studio policy.
