Classes
Create group classes, attach lessons, set a schedule, and enroll students.
Open in TeachopolisA class is a group of students who meet with you on a schedule, on site or online. Each class has its own lessons, dates, enrolled students, and public page. For self-paced online teaching without set meeting times, use a course instead.
Watch: create a class
Create a class
- Open Classes and click Create class.
- Under Details, enter a Title (for example “Beginner Piano — Tuesdays”), a Description, and Class details such as where you meet, what to bring, and how sessions run.
- Choose how lessons open with Lesson reveal (see below).
- Under Storefront, choose Private or Public and set an optional Price and Sale price.
- Optionally write the Class page content shown on the public class page. Add lessons on the Lessons tab after creating.
- Click Create class. The new class opens so you can keep setting it up.
Lesson reveal
- All lessons open: students can open every assigned lesson right away.
- Manual reveal: lessons stay hidden until you reveal them one by one, which is handy for unlocking each lesson live during class. Students see it appear immediately.
Visibility and price
- Private (the default): not listed on your storefront. Share the class link directly.
- Public: listed on your storefront so new families can find it and enroll.
Prices are in US dollars. A price of 0 shows as “Free”. A sale price must be lower than the regular price.
The class page
Click a class to manage it. Only the instructor a class is assigned to can open it. The header shows whether it's public or private and has a View public page button.
Details
Edit the title, description, visibility, and price, then click Save class. The Class settings panel holds the class details, Default location, and lesson reveal. Click Save settings after changing them.
Lessons
- Click Create lesson to write a new lesson for this class.
- Use the arrows to set the order.
- With manual reveal, click Reveal to unlock a lesson for students, and click it again to hide it.
- Copy from another class or course duplicates selected lessons into this class. Each copy is independent.
- Remove from class (in the row's menu) takes a lesson off this class.
Edit a lesson from the Lessons tab or by clicking its title. Changes apply to this class only. See Lessons for the editor.
Schedule
Add a repeating schedule (weekly days and times) or single dates, set the class location, and edit individual dates. Dates follow your lesson order automatically; edit a date to pin a different lesson. See Schedule for every option.
Enrollment
- In Student, type at least two letters of a name, email, or phone and pick the student. Students without their own login appear if a parent in your studio is linked to them.
- Click Enroll. The student joins the class schedule, and they and their linked parents are added to your studio's people.
- When you're ready, click Send welcome email (or Send parent welcome for a child without email). A pre-written message opens so you can edit it before sending. It includes a link to sign in, plus a set-password link for parents who haven't signed in before.
Click Remove to take a student out of the class. They lose access, and you can enroll them again later.
Messages
The Messages tab appears once there are emails linked to the class, so you can see every conversation about it in one place.
Marketing
- Class image: shown on the public class page and your storefront. Upload one or pick from your Library.
- Class page content: the rich description on the public class page. Click Save content, or copy content from another class.
- Share this class: a short link with Copy and Open, and a QR code you can Download PNG for flyers.
Delete a class
Use Delete class at the bottom of the Details tab, or the menu on the Classes list. Deleting is permanent and can't be undone.
For studio owners
- The Classes list shows every instructor's classes, not just yours.
- With more than one instructor, you can choose who teaches a class when creating it, or reassign it from the list or the Assign to another instructor panel. The new instructor takes over its lessons and students.
- Only the assigned instructor can open and edit a class, including when that's not you.
